Spread the seed of change
PITshop has a donation division called PITcares. You can donate fruits and healthy snacks to key groups in the Pittsburgh community. Our Kids, Fire Departments and Police Departments all play very important roles in the growth of our community.
On November 23, 2016, PITshop delivered fruits and healthy snacks to the Allegheny County Sheriff’s office located in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. We met the officers and toured the office. It was the first time that they had received a healthy option and expressed gratitude for thinking about them.
They gave us a tour of the Old Allegheny County Jail Museum. As we were walking through this old building we learned that The Allegheny County Jail was completed in 1886 to the designs of Boston architect H. H. Richardson . It was in use until 1995, then it was renovated between 1999 - 2001 to house the Family Division of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.
If you had not have a chance to visit this Pittsburgh’s historical landmark, we encourage you to stop by, it is definitely worth your while. PITshop is thankful that the local community made donations in order to make this happen. The officers were grateful for the healthy snacks. Add a PITcares package to your order this holiday season and spread the seed of change, let our Kids, Fire Departments and Police Departments know how much we care for them.
